Life {Unscripted} Blog Circle – Volume 20 – Gainesville, Florida photographer

Another month with the sweet ladies over at Life Unscripted. Please go to the end of this post to follow the circle and to see AnnMarie’s link to her post. Her colorful images always brighten my day and those boys crack me up.

I’ve decided to go with some still life and simple self portraits. The large white borders – which you can’t fully see via blog – are to help envision these photographs as a polaroid. It feels like it. It feels like a memory gone way too fast. This was the last hour before I had been scooped by a pink taxi cab to head to the longest line I think I’ve ever waited in at O’hare airport. My roller suitcase was stuffed like a pack of sardines and I had a giant camera backpack filled with 2 cameras, 4 lenses, a flash and other small camera equipment + a laptop. It was weighing on my shoulders so badly that my back ached and screamed for relief the whole airport experience.

Didn’t sleep at all the night before, which is typical for how I function before a flight. Couldn’t wait to see my husband and the kids. Missed Mother’s Day this year with them, but I think it’s safe to say that they appreciate me a whole ton on many days more than one. So, this is what I saw before I left my Mom’s house. It almost leaves that same weight I felt in the airport, on my heart right now. So nostalgic, and I am so appreciative. A whole ton of gratitude.

  1. Your gratitude is very evident in this series of beautiful and thoughtful photographs. I love your words of reflection and how well the photos fit within your space of introspection. You blow me away Stacey!! xoxo

  2. I love this idea! Going to steal it. I often wander around the house itching to take photos when the kids are in school. You really capture beauty and emotion in your still work! Amazing!
